This post is pretty long and self indulgent. But I find writing here to be therapeutic. Feel free to skip what you want, I put some pictures in at the end.
...
Goodness, I am not a faithful blogger. My apologies for that, if you happen to get some strange kick out of my pictures. These last few months have been overwhelming in good and bad ways. I've been feeling melancholy and unsettled for a while now.
I got what I wanted; when I started this blog just over a year ago, I wanted my life to be
different. I wasn't even sure about exactly what things I wanted to change, but I wanted it SO badly. I met many of my goals that I set when I started this blog. I was accepted into grad school and the Denver Roller Dolls. But somehow, I find myself in yet a different place then where I thought I would be.
I don't particularly want to go through my goals and make a formal blog post about it. 2011 was a year of change, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I wish for 2012 to be a year of strength. Mentally and physically.
What have I been doing this last couple of months?
Becoming the secretary of the board of directors for the Denver Roller Dolls. Knitting for people that aren't me. Escaping from a job that was making me miserable, and finding a new start right down the street. Starting spectacular fights with Husby, and then talking it out. Being an ear for my mother and mother in law to vent to. Saying goodbye to the year that took my Grandpa and my Tia, and hello to the year that will likely take my uncle. Taking my first cruise. Climbing rocks, and taking pictures of bugs. Drinking maybe a little too much on a couple of occasions. Painting a mask, and dancing with my derby wife. Trying to be a better feminist and a better employee. Learning which things are okay to just not give a shit about. Hugging my kitties. Loving a video game. Watching sunrises.
I really enjoy fashion blogs, and style in general. I think I'm going to maybe partially make this into a fashion blog. Style gives me confidence, and it makes me happy. I can use both confidence and happiness. Onward!
